Derickson Vision Consultants Is Now Part of Nicolitz Eye Consultants

The doctors and staff of Nicolitz Eye Consultants (NEC) are proud and honored to announce our affiliation with Drs. John Derickson and Matthew Sutton of Derickson Vision Consultants (DVC).  After years of close cooperation (professionally and physically – our offices were within yards of each other), we have decided to join our practices to provide optimal, convenient and comprehensive eye, vision, contact and spectacle lenses as well as medical and surgical eye care to all NEC and DVC patients.

The addition of the unique training and experiences Drs. Derickson and Sutton have will add a new dimension to the services NEC currently provides.  Dr. Derickson has practiced as an optometric physician for over 21 years as well as holding academic positions at Nova Southeastern University, Jacksonville University, Hillsboro College, Everest University, Florida Metropolitan University and University of North Florida.  He is also an Aviation Vision Specialist (certified to perform pilot certification vision examinations) and is an FAA Safety Training Instructor.

Dr. Sutton graduated the University of Florida; did graduate work at Florida State College of Jacksonville (FSCJ); and received his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Salus University, Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 2015.  He has had extensive professional clinical experience at William Jennings Bryan Dorn VA Medical Center, Columbia, SC; Mittleman Eye Center, West Palm Beach, FL; EnVision Eyecare, Savannah, GA; The Eye Institute, Philadelphia, PA; Quinn Eye Center, Gainesville, FL.  He joined DVC in 2015 and has developed a large geriatric practice, especially patients requiring special advanced technologies.

Drs. Derickson and Sutton Perimeter Park office will be closing and they will continue to see their existing and new patients at the NEC offices (7051 Southpoint Pkwy).  Please call for an appointment with any of our NEC doctors including Drs. Derickson and Sutton.
